中华人民共和国取得联合国中国席位
1971年10月25日，联合国大会通过2758号决议，承认北京政府是中国唯一的合法代表，把蒋介石的代表轰出了联合国。美国二十多年的外交围堵就此散架，而刚为林彪摔死焦头烂额的北京，转眼拿到了安理会的常任席位和大国否决权。

Following the 1969 Sino-Soviet border clashes on the Ussuri River, Beijing moved to break its diplomatic isolation, welcoming the U.S. table tennis delegation in April 1971, receiving Henry Kissinger secretly in July, and taking the China seat at the United Nations on 25 October 1971.
