第二次台海危机
1958年8月23日傍晚，福建前线几百门大炮同时开火，成万发炮弹狠狠砸向金门岛。这场八二三炮战开打前，毛泽东连个招呼都没跟莫斯科打。美国急调航母进海峡护航，赫鲁晓夫吓得满头大汗，生怕被北京拖进第三次世界大战。毛泽东站在地图前，把美苏两个超级大国耍得团团转。

性质
金门炮战是毛泽东用外部大炮调动国内狂热的绝招。打金门不是真想渡海抢岛，而是要制造大敌当前的紧张气氛，逼着国内几亿人老老实实进公社、炼钢铁。但这种瞒着盟友的玩火举动，也把赫鲁晓夫吓怕了，苏联下定决心不再给中国提供原子弹技术。
